We’ve done a fair bit of group travel in our time, that’s how we all met! And we love the fact that although you may land as a solo traveller, you always come back from an adventure with genuine friends. Our mission at GoPackme is to get your adventure started before you leave for a trip with us. We’ll coordinate a community which allows you to meet face to face with your fellow trip-mates in advance of you actually heading off. Meaning that those who share the trip with you are familiar faces you already know. All of this is done with the ambition of making group travel more accessible and inevitably more fun. Some of the best trips we have been on were inspired by hearing about them from other travellers. We want to keep passing on that inspiration to others, and invite you to share your travel stories and tips with our community and future travel buddies.

Rose city Petra, a world wonder, the Dead Sea the lowest point on earth, the magically vast Wadi Rum, and the rugged and spectacular Mujib Biosphere Reserve, an adventurer’s paradise. Don’t miss a day of work and see it all on this long Islamic holiday weekend!

Wednesday 20th October – Saturday 23rd October

Day 1 – Wednesday, October 20th – Welcome to Amman

Upon your night arrival, we will be transferred to our hotel, where we’ll get some rest after your day of travel. Those of you up for exploring are invited to explore Amman’s old town. This area is bustling with life and is home to some of the country’s most famous restaurants and sweet shops for a real insight into Jordan’s cuisine.

Day 2 – Thursday, October 21st – Baptism Site, Wadi Mujib Biosphere Reserve & Petra (B, L, D)

We will start our journey by descending to Jordan River and the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ. Pilgrims come here to immerse themselves in the waters of the Jordan River.

Our second stop will be completely different as we will get a chance to go on a canyon adventure in the Wadi Mujib Biosphere Reserve. At 410 meters below sea level, the Mujib Biosphere Reserve is the lowest nature reserve on earth. Its rugged and spectacular mountains border the Dead Sea coast and are dissected by several river-filled canyons that offer the best river and adventure hikes in Jordan. The breathtaking scenery and the excitement of negotiating Mujib’s fast-flowing rivers will be an adventure for all!

Day 3 – Friday, October 22nd – Petra & Wadi Rum (B, D)

We will start our day with a big breakfast to power us for our day in Petra! Our guide will navigate the 2000-year-old pink city carved in the mountains entering from the little-visited backside (little Petra). This site is breathtaking, and after our guided hike, everyone will have time to explore and take in the wonder of Petra at their own pace.

In the late afternoon, we’ll say goodbye to this magical pink city and make our way to Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is everything you’d expect of a quintessential desert: the desert of here is nothing short of a magical place, and its’ beauty is astounding. An overnight desert camp experience is an unforgettable way of stripping the soul back to basics! This deluxe camping with bathrooms and hot water, and all the comforts for a fantastic experience!

Day 4 – Saturday, October 23rd – Optional Hot Air Balloon Over Wadi Rum & Dead Sea (B, L)

We will start the day with an optional Hot Air Balloon ride for a bird’s eye view of the vastness of Wadi Rum for sunrise. Weather-dependent, the cost of the sunrise ride is USD 185.

After breakfast, we will be descending 1,400 meters/4,600 feet to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. We will have lunch and spend the afternoon experiencing the wonders and healing power of the incredibly salty water of the Dead Sea at a 5-star beach resort. After watching the sunset over the hills around Jerusalem, we will make our way to Amman for the night.
